Some of you living in the Lower Mainland might remember the story on the news of people lining up for weeks for the opportunity to buy new condos in Langley. Well, we were some of those people! My mother, Margaret, had been in the market for a new place to live after many years in Port Coquitlam and there was the last phase of a beautiful townhouse in Langley (where i live) at the corner of 82nd and 208st, ready to be built. In order to get what she wanted most of our family rotated sitting in line, awaiting when they went up for sale, for 2 weeks. Did I mention the condos hadn't even started being built. They were in full swing and were slated to be finished sometime in 2018. That is the reason for the incompleted Gingerbread house. By the way my mom got exactly what she wanted, so the waiting was worth it!!

Inside the Gingerbread house is a Jukebox. I spent a good solid 2 months, cleaning, greasing, oiling, scouring, adjusting, tuning rebuilding and repainting my parents old 1952 Seeburg 100 Jukebox. It runs like a champ now!

There are two gingerbread men out front of the house. One represents Charlie starting baseball and Oliver starting soccer that year.

The beaver out front represents Charlie starting The Cub Scouts that year in the Beaver division.

The sign and briefcase the beaver is holding represents how Mona moved offices in her job. She went from being the manager in New Westminster to North Surrey to eventually South Surrey where we thought she'd stay (for the time being).
