2013

Just as I had said in the introduction to my train, each car represents the things that happened that year to my little family, GOOD OR BAD!

Well this year had it's share of good with introducing a dog into our family, That is why there is a Snoopy lying on the igloo. Her name was Bailey.

I also built my dream guitar, a hardwood replica of Eddie Van Halen's iconic 5150 guitar. The 3 snowflakes on the front are made from the scraps when making it.

This year, although, had it's hefty share of sad things. I lost my father, Wilfrid Joseph Lefebvre this year. He Is the reason I got into carving. Whilst being a scout leader for my older brothers he had carved things with his little pen knike or jack knife. He had also carved our family crest which hung over our fireplace mantle in the home where I grew up. I tried to copy the things he did and watched, intently, on how he did them. He never really showed me how to carve but inspired me none the less! That is the reason for the little snowman (me) hugging the big snowman (my dad). I miss him every Christmas and every day.

I also lost my Uncle Bill Clark and my cousin's husband, Peter Almerling. Their names are inscribed on either end of the train.

Not every train is all happy joyous Christmas stuff but it tells the story of who we are and what makes us...us!
